Political View: Padma is on the side of the Order and the ‘good guys’. She doesn’t understand what difference blood could possibly make when it comes to being a witch. To her, that all focuses on the effort that you wish to put into learning.

Dress style: She wears a variety of clothing, depending mostly upon her mood and her time. If she’s going out on the town, she usually dresses more formal, in a dress or skirt. If she’s just staying in or just popping out with or to visit friends, she’ll wear causal robes. Any sort of party gives her an excuse to indulge in her love of her culturally traditional fashions.
Discerning Marks: Padma has a small birthmark on the back of her neck that her sister does not.

Personality

Padma is a strong logical thinker. She likes problems that can be puzzled out in a systemic way. However, Padma is far from the stoic, purely rational individual. When faced with an irrational problem or situation, her response to that situation is often irrational as well. Her emotions tend to overwhelm her, and she can’t seem to do anything to stop that from happening. She’s prone to emotional burst outbursts especially during periods of high stress.

Padma is patient when it comes to most things. She will spend hours puzzling out a curse set or doing a vital Arithematic equation without any signs of frustration, but people seem to frazzle her to no ends. She doesn’t like dealing with her own problems, so she shuts down if people start to talk to her about their life dilemmas. She tries to be a good friend, but when it comes to things like comforting, she’s extremely awkward. Usually, she just zones when people breakdown to her. She will put up an extreme effort to say ‘there, there’ and pat someone of the back if they mean quite a bit to her.

As far as quirks go, Padma is slightly obsessive when it comes to theoretical formulas, both her own and those that have been proposed by other people. She has an extreme interest in muggle Quantum physics, especially when used in relation to magical principles like apparition and new blossoming theories in every field.

Padma is horribly pessimistic when it comes to life. She’s a strong believer in Murphy’s Laws, and she agrees with Swift on how to live. She tries to keep her expectations low, because if she gets the least bit hopeful, in her experience, she’s often disappointed (case in point, the Yule Ball). As it is, she’s often pleasantly surprised with how things turn out. Low expectations have lead to an increased contentment within her life.

Psychology

Introvert/Extrovert Introvert. Padma was also the quiet one of the pair, preferring to spend her time reading or quietly exploring her surroundings rather than running around and playing like most children do. She was never too outgoing around other people. She’d rather listen to others, rather than offer up her own opinions on an issue.
Boggart is? Explain. A Giant Occamy. Once, while visiting her paternal grandmother, Padma had been exploring the backyard of her grandmother’s estate and ended up having a run in with a full grown, fifteen feet long Occamy. As she was a toddler when this happened, the Occamy Boggart is sized as though she were still a toddler.
Patronus--can they produce one? What is it and why does it have that form? Padma’s Patronus is a yak. Yaks are representations of wisdom and understanding of a higher purpose in life. But yaks also represent self-doubt and a lack of control over emotions.

Sexuality

Padma is ambiguous when it comes to her sexuality. She has been on dates, mostly arranged by her sister, with boys, but she’s usually either found them to be to boring or too vapid to hold her interest in anyway. Physically, she finds both men and women attractive, but she has come to the conclusion that it’s going to take a deeper connection in order for her to really be ‘attracted’ to someone.

Residence: Recently moved out of her family home and into reasonably sized flat in London
Financial Status: The Patil family as a whole is well off. On her own, Padma has a decent enough salary to provide for the necessaries and extras as well.

Family dynamics--do they get along? Opposite sides of the war? Accept their child's magical talent? Pressure for 'pure blood' marriage? The Patils are all on the side of the Order. It’s very impossible for Lalita be anything but since she lost her older sister [who was a field Healer] during the first war. And Prabhakar, despite his traditional upbringing that enforces the superiority of purebloods, finds murdering half-bloods and muggleborns to be exactly the opposite of how purebloods should treat them, rather taking the time to nurture them like parents aid their children. However, this is the basically only place their values actually mesh.

Prabhakar and Lalita both agree that they want the best for Padma and Parvati, but what is best is something they can’t agree on. Prabhakar, being a traditionist, has always planned on his daughters marrying a member of one of the sons of the upperclass pureblood families in India. Lalita, however, having witnessed the schism that required arranged marriages can inflict on a family through her older sister and mother’s argument and falling out over the issue, she refuses to put her daughters through that. This difference in tradition has caused more than its share of fights between Prabhakar and Lalita, but they have done their best to let it not tear them apart. Both parents, however, did agree that they weren’t going to risk their daughters in the war. Any time, any threat would raise its head, they’d debate over whether it would be worth taking them out of school. Prabhakar even suggested moving the family to India.

Padma loves her mother. She only tolerates her father, and she avoids him any chance she gets now that she’s out on her own. Padma also really cares about her sister and values her opinion. They don’t often see eye to eye on many things, and Padma doesn’t quite get Parvati [like her fascination with such an inexact and often inaccurate field as Divination] most of the time. But they’re still twins and sisters and that outstrips anything.

History

Padma started Hogwarts in 1991. She was sorted into Ravenclaw while her twin sister was sorted into Gryffindor. Padma adapted to the separation easily, making quite a few friends in Ravenclaw who shared similar interests to hers. She spent her school years focusing mostly on her studies. She had a few close friends in her own house during the earlier years, but the majority of her connections with anyone outside of that were made through her sister. The DA in her fifth year was the largest social interaction that she’d ever really had, and though it was beneficial for her, especially during her DADA practicals, she wasn’t really interested in such a large interaction again for any reason other than keeping up appearances for her family.

Padma was very good in Charms, DADA, and Arithmancy during her schooling so Professor Flitwick suggested to her that she study for a Cursebreaking career. She did just that, NEWTing E’s in Charms and DADA, an O in Arithmancy, and A’s in Transfiguration and Ancient Runes. After leaving Hogwarts, she delayed starting her career to help in the war effort like many did. Combat not being her forte, she trained herself in healing techniques that worked well during emergency situations and aided at the first aid stations that attended to the wounded. Her low tolerance for stressful situations didn’t really help her during this task, and she’s convinced that there were at least a few people that she lost because she had started to panic. She still has nightmares about what she saw...but who doesn’t?

After the war was finally over, she decided to pursue her original career goal, taking up a Junior Cursebreaker position at Gringotts under the supervising of the training Senior Cursebreakers. She’s still under the first level of her job, and she never works alone, no matter how small the job is. Even if it’s just a training position, though, the income is decent, and it’s enough for her to afford a flat of her own. She moved out just after her twentieth birthday.
